How Long Does It Take The Chin Bone To Heal After A Sliding Genioplasty To Resist Displacement From Trauma?
Q: Dr. Eppley, I’m planning to have a genioplasty with you this spring and had a few questions about the healing process.How long does it usually take for the chin bone to heal enough to avoid bending in case of trauma.Would it be around 2, 4, or 6 weeks post op?
A:The chin bone is generally healed enough after 6 weeks that trauma to it would not change the bone position.
