How Can My Chin Ptosis Be Corrected?
Q: Dr. Eppley, hello I have ptosis of the chin. A surgeon put sutures for an elevation of the vestibule, no anchorage, and it did not work.I know that now you make facial implants but how to fix this please? what technique? help me
A: Ptosis of the chin can be very difficult to significantly improve. Vestibular shortening is an adjunctive procedure in the treatment of chin ptosis not a primary one so it alone would not be expected to work. A small implant that allows for tissue ingriowth, anchorage and vestibular shortening is a more comprehensive approach.
An important question is what is the cause of your chin ptosis?
