(i.e., vertical excision or periumbilical excision) Such scarring is just as bad as the loose skin if not worse. The effective method is a horizontally-based tummy tuck where a new belly button can be made through a fresh skin site. Whether the lower tummy tuck is viable depends of what the rest of your abdomen looks like as well as your tolerance for a lower tummy tuck scar.
