Q: Dr. Eppley, I have a chin that is a little but long when I smile. Also I feel my chin is a bit short. I would also like liposuction under the chin at the same time. What would be the approach for optimal correction?

A: Thank you for your inquiry and sending your picture. In the chin that has a dynamic chin pad ptosis in which it is also a bit horizontally short, a chin implant placed through a submental incision (not intraoral) is the corrective approach. Submental/neck liposuction can be performed at the same time through the same access incision as the chin implant.
