Can A Wide Ribcage Be Made To Inclined Downward By Cutting Ribs 9 and 10 With Postoperative Corseting?
Q: Dr. Eppley, male and female ribs are typically slightly different in that the female thoracic cage inclines downwards whereas male thoracic cage is wide and short. Through surgery, would it be feasible in not only have ribs removed, but having the 10th and 9th rib cut in certain parts and through a corset forced to go downwards like seen in the anatomy attachment.
A: That is a theoretical possibility with the key of prolonged corseting.
