Can A Rhinoplasty Make A Bulbous Nose Smaller and Thinner?

Q: Dr. Eppley, I am inquiring about having a bulbous rhinoplasty done and am hoping for a symmetrical, smaller, thinner and narrower nose, including the nostrils. What is the cost? I have also sent 7 pictures.

A: Thank you for your inquiry and sending your pictures Like many bulbous nose patient you have thick nasal skin which does provide some limitations as to how much thinner/more narrow your nose can become with rhinoplasty surgery. While I don’t think it is possible to have a substantially smaller or thinner nose, there are improvements that can be made as per the attached prediction imaging. As long as one has a realistic understanding of the limitations of what a rhinoplasty surgery can do in the thick skinned nose patient then surgery can produce a satisfying improvement.
