Can A Custom Skull Implant Cover Both The Front And Back For Increased Convexity in Profile?
Q: Dr. Eppley, is there a way for a custom implant to reduce back flatness of head and frontal flatness. I could benefit from a little convexity. Is there also a way minor changes could be made to reduce flatness? I just want a lil bit of change in appearance. Thanks
A: Thank you for your inquiry. I believe what you are asking is whether a back of head implant can be combined with a front of the head (forehead) implant. That answer would be yes. The question then becomes would this be a connected implant from front to back or a two piece implant leaving the central area on the top of the head uncovered. That question is yet to be determined.
